Hello and welcome to first grade! I’m glad you’re here! I’m your child’s first grade teacher, Mrs. Gayle! This is my sixth year teaching first grade at Cottonwood Creek and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else! Before that I taught second grade. Cottonwood Creek is truly my home ... I even student taught here many years ago with Mrs. Lang in Kindergarten. Having taught kindergarten and second grade, I can honestly say that I LOVE first grade and all of the fun and learning that comes with it. I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child, and collaborating with you this coming year.
I have a Masters Degree from Regis University in Elementary Education and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from The Art Institute of Colorado in Art and Photography. Before deciding to go into education, I was a nanny for 8+ years. I have my own portrait photography business that I do in my spare time. I have an endorsement in Art Education and I incorporate a lot of arts and crafts and hands-on learning into the classroom. I have a love for learning and I hope to instill this same passion in all of my students.
I am a Colorado native, and I love all the beauty and adventure Colorado has to offer. I enjoy bike riding, yoga-ing, skiing in the winters, and hiking and camping in the summers. My husband, Brandon, and our daughter, Juno, and I spend as much time as we can with our family and friends that are close by and we love our dog, Remington, who is a Bernese Mountain Dog. You might find the four of us on a walk in the park, barbecuing on the patio or curled up on the couch with a good book.
If you have any questions or need to get in touch with me, email is the best way.
